Unfortunately it has turned out in the meantime that there exist several other programming and scripting languages "Lava/lava". Moreover, numerous companies, projects and products use "Lava" in their names. We should have avoided this name, of course, if we had known earlier of this multiplicity of "Lavas".
On the other hand, we use the name Lava since the first half of 1996. We have got accustomed to it and thousands of visitors of our web site and of readers of newspapers and computer magazines, likewise.
We believe that this name clash doesn't really raise a serious problem as long as none of these languages is a commercial product with a protected name.
